Calculating performance metrics helps you see where your performance is good, and the areas that need improvement. You can then use the information to better how you function and grow as a seller.
Keep reading to learn about each of the parameters that have an effect on your overall performance.
Sales in rupees
- Calculate your sales in rupees and subtract cancellations, but do count returns. For example, if cancellations amount to Rs.50,000 and returns amount to Rs.30,000, your total sales are Rs.5 lakh, you will calculate this as Rs.5 lakh + Rs.30,000 – Rs.50,000, which is Rs.4.80 lakh.
Sales in terms of units
- Calculate the number of units you have sold and subtract cancellations, but do count returned units. For example, if your total units sold are 1,000, cancellations are 100 and returns are 50, you will count sales in terms of units as 1,000 + 50 – 100, which is 950 units.
Gross revenue
This is the Gross Merchandise Value with respect to approval dates, minus any cancellations.
Customer Returns (%) = Number of units returned by the customer/ Number of units delivered
- So, if you receive 10 customer returns for the 1,000 products that you have delivered, your customer return rate will be 10/1000 x 100 = 1%
- Customer Returns are allotted to the date, week or month that the order was approved and not when it was dispatched or delivered.
Seller Cancellation (%) = Number of units cancelled by you / Number of units approved
- So, if you have approved a total of 200 units but cancelled 10, your Seller Cancellation rate will be 10/200 x 100 = 5%
- Note that cancellations are allotted to the day, week or month that the order was approved and not on the day you cancelled it.
Procurement Time
- This is the time that you take to mark an item or order as ready to dispatch.
Seller Rating Overview
- Your seller rating is considered from the time your account was created and includes positive, neutral and negative ratings.
- While 4 and 5 indicate positive ratings, 3 is a neutral rating and 1 and 2 are negative ratings.
Dispatch Breach (%) = Number of units not RTD within ‘Dispatch by Date’ / Total number of units to be marked RTD
- So, if you have not marked 5 units RTD within the Dispatch by Date, and the total number of units to be marked RTD is 200, your Dispatch Breach rate will be 5/200 x 100 = 2.5%
- Dispatch Breaches are also attributed to the date, week, or month in which the order was to be dispatched but wasn’t.
Pick-Up Reattempt (%) = Number of failed attempts / Number of attempts on shipments
- So, if you have 2 failed shipment attempts in a day out of 20 shipment attempts, your pick-up reattempt will be 2/20 x 100 = 10%
